Submission Guidelines for Gallery Show Proposals

Hudson Contemporary’s Gallery Committee meets twice annually to review submissions for solo and group shows and plan the upcoming schedule of gallery exhibitions. Please follow these guidelines if you would like to be considered for an exhibit.

Eligibility and Selection: Artists/artisans in any medium may submit proposals for solo or group shows. All submissions will be reviewed by the Gallery Committee at its next meeting. The number of proposals selected will depend upon a number of factors such as similarity to recent or planned shows. If appropriate, the Committee may suggest that two or three solo proposals be combined into a small group show. Hudson Contemporary will notify each artist of its decision shortly after the review.

Terms: The application fee for submission of proposals is $10 for non-members of A.C.T., Inc. and free for members (membership information is available upon request). If accepted, there will be an additional fee to offset costs for publicity and the opening reception as per the contract. The gallery’s commission on sales will be 25%. Proposal Requirements: Proposal requirements are listed below. Please send the following information to The Gibby Center, 45 W. Main St., Middletown, DE 19709, attention: Gallery Committee, via mail or the mail slot in the 45 W. Main St. door, or deliver directly to the Gibby Center at 51 W. Main St., Middletown.

• Five photos or CD of recent work, each labeled with artist’s name, title, medium, date, and dimensions

• If it is a group show proposal, include at least three photos or CD from each artist

• Artist’s statement and/or short biography

• Current resume

• Self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of photos or CD

• Proposal for Exhibiting Artwork form (see below)

• Entry fee, if applicable, made out to Gibby Center
